A chilly start to Meteorological Fall

First day of Fall -
Fall is here. For meteorologists (and anyone eager for sweater weather and all things cinnamon) — and with a chill.
While the first day of autumn on astronomical calendars is Sept. 22, meteorologists begin their record-keeping for the season on Sept. 1, meaning Wednesday marked the start of what is known as Meteorological Fall.
The National Weather Service in Seattle used the start of the season to remind people on Twitter to prepare for fall weather hazards, offering safety tips at weather.gov/wrn/fall-safety.
